Being a dental hygienist is unique in that we have so many options for a career. We can work in perio, pediatrics, ortho, and general practices. We can work in educational settings, sales, training, dental products, and systems companies. We can write, speak, and coach. We have so many options at our fingertips but that wasn’t always so. In this episode, we have a friend of the show, Lil Caperila, who helped pioneer the idea of leveraging clinical knowledge into a corporate position at a dental company. We learn what goes into creating ideal products based on the needs of the clinicians and we finally answer whether or not we should be polishing… and if so, what considerations need to be made for that choice!
